The best therapy for all patients! In view of the increasingly complex cardiac medical treatments, this can only be achieved today through close interdisciplinary cooperation between competent specialists. The unique concept of the HerzKlinik, which was founded in 2013, is that both cardiological and cardiac surgery treatments are carried out by a single organizational and financially united team. This led to the HerzKlinik becoming one of the leading centers for both percutaneous valve treatment and minimally invasive heart surgery in Switzerland. The combination of cutting-edge medicine combined with personalized care and evidence-based treatment decisions enables quality at the highest level, which is reflected in one of the lowest mortality rates in Switzerland.

Innovation is the program. In recent years, the HerzKlinik has been able to establish itself through excellent results by consistently promoting minimally invasive valve surgery and co-developing pioneering percutaneous valve treatments. The expansion of our team to a total of 12 senior physicians and 4 senior cardiologists with all their different specialties shows that there is a demand for competent and interdisciplinary medical care. In recognition of this achievement and its commitment to the further training of young colleagues, the Hirslanden Heart Clinic was recognized by the SIWF as a category A cardiology and category B cardiac surgery training centre. In addition, there is still a teaching contract with the University of Zurich, with many existing and new professorships due to the multi-layered supervision of UZH students (clinical teaching, Master’s students, dissertations). Clinic, research and teaching also form a unit at the Heart Clinic and form the foundation for current and future heart team specialists.

We are positive about the future, convinced that our concept of a specialized, small team for the interdisciplinary assessment and treatment of highly complex heart patients will continue to be the right recipe for ensuring quality at the highest level.
